Yours, mine, shag!

YoursMineShag destroyed the opposition at ACI’s annual quiz.

Euromoney entered a team of journalists in ACI UK’s annual quiz last month under the name of YoursMineShag. The team consisted of Lee Oliver (Euromoney’s FX columnist), Colin Lambert and Kirsten Hyde from P&L, plus Jamie McGeever from Reuters. We also allowed Sue Attwood and Dennis Gepp from the ACI committee to join us at the last moment.

A total of nine teams took part in the event at Reuters’ building in Canary Wharf, London’s supposedly high-tech business centre. The quiz raised money for charity and question master Martin Mallett, chief dealer at the Bank of England, came up with some quite fiendish questions.

Colin was more than happy to compete under the YoursMineShag banner, pointing out that if we got into the lead, Martin would have to utter the phrase, which he unkindly suggested might be the first time he has ever done so in his long and illustrious career. To cut a long story short, YoursMineShag destroyed the opposition.

We’ve now got our hands on the ACI’s Quiz shield. And what a fine trophy it is, engraved with an illustrious list of previous winners. Sue Attwood has already been in touch saying I have to consider what we want on the shield, and we think she’s hoping we don’t insist on YoursMineShag.
