FX people moves: Société Générale strengthens research

Mark Capleton and Valentin Marinov have joined Société Générale Cross Asset Research in London. Both will report to Vincent Chaigneau, head of fixed income and forex strategy.

Capleton will be head of UK rates strategy and global inflation-linked strategy. He was previously head of European rates research at RBS. He has also worked at Morgan Stanley, HSBC and Barclays.

Marinov joins SocGen as senior forex strategist and will concentrate on G10 FX. He previously filled the same role at Commerzbank and Dresdner Kleinwort.

SocGen’s G10 FX research was highly rated, coming third in last year’s Euromoney poll.
