FX people moves: Citibank sales head likes his garden

Citibank’s head of FX bank sales EMEA in London, Nick Downes, quit the bank last night.

It is not yet known where Downes will reappear but his timing of three months of gardening leave is impeccable – so long as there’s a decent summer. And it’s not the first time he’s banked on some sunshine while between jobs.

Downes left UBS two years ago in the run up to summer to join Citi. He had been UBS’s head of FX bank marketing based in Zurich.

From the graph below one would have to conclude that in his two years at Citi Downes got the bank’s FX business back in the game.
