Petrobras is Awarded Best Managed Company in Latin America

Euromoney magazine announces the results of its fifth yearly ranking of Best managed companies in Latin America, in which Petrobras was awarded Best Managed Company in Latin America. In this year when global and regional financial crises have provided Latin America’s corporate executives with stark evidence of the benefits of good corporate governance, Brazil’s Petrobras has been recognised as both the Best Managed and the Most Improved Company for a second year running.

Published in the March 2010 issue of the magazine, the Best managed companies in Latin America annual poll is one of the most prominent recognitions given by Euromoney magazine to corporations in Latin America. The poll rewards those companies with the most convincing and coherent business strategies by region, country and industry, as well as highlighting those which demonstrate sound practise of corporate governance.

The ranking is based on a survey of market analysts at major banks, consultancy firms and research institutes focusing on Latin America. Respondents were asked to nominate the top three companies in each of the countries or sectors they covered, taking into account their market strength, profitability, growth potential, quality of management and earnings.

The full results of this ranking and the methodology are available to subscribers online as well as in the March edition of Euromoney magazine. This issue, which will reach a global audience of 145,000 readers, will in addition have bonus distribution at the IADB Annual Meeting in Cancun, Mexico at the end of March.
