Methodology

Euromoney’s fifth Latin American company ranking is based on a survey of market analysts at major banks and research institutes in Latin America.

We received 105 responses in 2010. Respondents were asked to nominate the top-three companies in each of the countries or sectors they covered, bearing in mind market strength, profitability, growth potential, quality of management and earnings. Points were awarded on a scale of 4:3:2, for first-, second- and third-place nominations respectively. Companies’ results are presented as a percentage of total points received in each category, together with the number of companies that received points in each category.

A number of other countries and industry sectors were included in the survey, but received insufficient responses to be published.

If you would like more information about the poll, please email Tim Moxon, head of research, at tmoxon@euromoneyplc.com.
