Bahrain?s two leading banks are closely matched in their franchises, size and performance. Both have succeeded in significantly expanding their loan portfolios.
This year, though, Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait wins the award for best bank because it has succeeded in attaining greater profits with a more attractive return on equity than its rival, National Bank of Bahrain.
National Bank of Bahrain maintains its undisputed status as the best local partner, winning again the mandate for the Bahrain Monetary Authority?s $250 million bond issue, along with Kuwait International Finance. National Bank was also active in some of Bahrain?s most high-profile deals over the past year.
