Dear Friends of Euromoney
The Covid-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on individuals, societies, economies and industries. The banking and publishing businesses have both had to quickly, and fundamentally, change the way they work as a result.
We have taken time to reflect on the how the current crisis affects our annual Awards for Excellence programme. Many thanks to those of you that have offered constructive feedback, which we have factored into our decisions.
Today we announce the following changes to the 2020 Euromoney Awards for Excellence, designed to make the process more manageable for banks and to reflect the changes in the banking industry and in financial markets.
COUNTRY AWARDS
The submission deadline for country awards is now THURSDAY MAY 7 (originally April 16).
The criteria remain the same, although we are keen to hear from you about how you are responding as a business to the Covid-19 crisis. Decisions will now be notified by Thursday, June 11.

EXISTING REGIONAL AWARDS
The submission deadline for these regional awards is THURSDAY MAY 7 (originally April 16). The criteria remain the same. Decisions will now be notified by Thursday, June 11. If your submissions will be ready according to the regional schedule, or close to it, please do send them in for our consideration as soon as they are ready.
NEW REGIONAL AWARDS
We want to hear from you directly about what you have done for your employees, your clients, your own business and your societies and economies. There will be no individual categories for these awards. We anticipate that up to six banks in each region will be recognised in this way.
The submission deadline for the regional Excellence in Leadership awards is THURSDAY, MAY 28. Decisions will be notified by Thursday, June 18. As with other awards please restrict your submissions to no more than four pages of A4 in length. These awards are open to all banks operating within the respective region.

GLOBAL AWARDS
NEW GLOBAL AWARDS
We will also be recognising a select group of banks in our new Global Excellence in Leadership awards. Our editorial team has been hugely impressed by the swift reaction of many banks across the world in responding to the Covid-19 crisis. The Excellence in Leadership awards will recognise these efforts.

ANNOUNCEMENT DATES, PUBLICATIONS AND DINNERS
For that reason, and with much regret, we are not going to be able to hold our usual awards dinners in London, the Middle East and Asia in July this year.
We are working on ways to potentially announce the awards through a virtual event. However we expect that all of the country and regional award winners will be publicly announced via our website and on social media on Wednesday July 15, the original date of the Global Awards dinner in London. The country and regional awards will also be published in the July print issue of Euromoney, as usual.
The global awards winners will be announced publicly September 10 and published in the September print issue of Euromoney.
We will monitor the global business and travel environment closely and, if the situation improves and our friends in the market express an interest in it, we will certainly consider holding an awards celebration later in the year.
PLEASE SUPPORT OUR CHANGES AND OUR EFFORTS
We have made changes that we hope relieve the burden on you and allows us to reflect better the industry today - which remains the core purpose of Euromoney. We did strongly consider the merits of postponing the awards this year.
But the awards are there purely and simply to reflect on and celebrate what good banks do well. Right now, that is arguably more important than ever. We look forward to hearing about what you are doing, and please accept our thoughts and best wishes at this difficult time.
