Best Managed Companies Survey 2015: Press release

Banks performed well across all regions in the Euromoney Best Managed Companies Survey 2015.

In the Middle East banks routed the competition but in other regions the success was more muted. In Latin America the results of the 2015 Euromoney Best Managed Companies Survey saw a variety of sectors represented in the top ten.

Regional Overall Winners:

·         Asia: China Telecom

·         Central and Eastern Europe: CEZ

·         Latin America: Falabella

·         Middle East: Emirates NBD

·         Sub-Saharan Africa: Sanlam

Euromoney's annual Best Managed Company ranking is based on a survey of market analysts at leading banks and research institutes around the world. This year polling took place from February 26 to July 3.

Respondents were asked to nominate the top three listed companies in each of the following categories:

·         Most convincing and coherent business strategy

·         Best system of corporate governance

·         Most accessible senior management

·         Most transparent financial accounts

·         Best for shareholder value

·         Most useful and informative website

·         Most improved performance

·         Best newly listed

Votes were then aggregated (with the exception of 'Most improved performance’ and 'Best newly listed’) to create a table of 'Overall best managed companies’ in each region. This table was then cut by country and industry sector.

Respondents were also asked to nominate their top three financial exchanges and top three unlisted companies in each region.

The final section of the questionnaire asked respondents to name the top three treasurers in each region according to their communication, knowledge of their own business and market knowledge.

Points are awarded on the scale of 4:3:2 for nominations for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

We received responses from 447 individuals.
