FX people moves: Poole joins MNI
It isn’t exactly an FX move but it was big enough to catch my eye: Market News International (MNI) has hired Dr. William Poole, former president of the St. Louis Federal Reserve as a special adviser.
"We are honoured to have Bill Poole on board," said Michael Connor, chief executive officer of MNI. "We are confident that working with Dr. Poole will enable us to enhance our capabilities in the area of providing the best central bank intelligence to our clients.”
It certainly does look like a way to boost your central bank and monetary policy coverage: hire a former member of the FOMC and the US President’s council of economic advisers.
Poole also has academic credentials: he was a professor and chairman of the economics department at Brown University and specialised in macroeconomics and monetary policy.
