FX people moves: StanChart hires in research

Standard Chartered has appointed William Oswald (ex JPMorgan, London) to the newly created role of global head of fixed-income research.

Based in Singapore, Oswald started this week and reports to Alex Barrett, head of client research.

Oswald is responsible for leading Standard Chartered’s global efforts in FX, rates and credit and quantitative research.

Commenting on the hire, Barrett says: “William’s appointment demonstrates the bank’s commitment to expand the fixed-income platform and better service clients across our network. It is essential that we have a candidate of William’s calibre in this position so we are best placed to deliver clients the level of expertise they expect.

“We are delighted that William has joined the bank. He is a senior appointment with deep industry experience across emerging markets. His expertise will assist Standard Chartered enormously as we continue to grow our presence across our footprint in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.”
