Nomura hires FX structuring chief

Nomura has appointed a former JPMorgan banker as its new global head of FX structuring.

Tim Owens joined the Japanese bank this week from JPMorgan, where he was responsible for global commodity investor structuring and sales. Previously he ran JPMorgan’s global FX and commodity structuring business, and before that the quantitative research team for FX.

Owens was in FX and commodity structuring at JPMorgan for nearly 18 years, before which he worked in quantitative research for Citi in Frankfurt, helping to develop technical trading models for FX trading and pricing models for exotic FX options.

Owens will report directly to Giancarlo Saronne, global head of structuring, and will work closely with Nigel Khakoo, global head of FX options, and Harsh Shah, global head of structured sales.

Owens’s arrival follows Nomura’s hire last month of Antony Foster as head of G10 spot trading, EMEA.
