Euromoney surveys consumers of trade finance services to rank and assess their top providers.
Respondents select the capacity in which they are voting on behalf of their company, whether domestic, regional or global, and then rank their top three providers of trade finance services.
The ranks assigned to trade finance providers domestically, regionally and globally are determined by the geographic allocation of client rankings and associated points received. Providers receive four points for a 1st place rank, three points for 2nd place and two points for 3rd.
Respondents are asked to rate their providers on a scale ranging from ‘unsatisfactory’ to ‘exceptional’ across a number or product and service categories.
To be ranked and scored in a particular category of service, a bank has to receive the greater of 5% or 10 votes. Banks that receive sufficient votes will be assessed on their average score in each category of service, and ranked against all other banks in that category.
Votes will not be counted toward the survey when:
· Service providers cast a vote for themselves.
· Euromoney requests verification from a respondent of their identity or regarding a specific question and does not receive a response.
· An individual respondent submits more than one ballot and we cannot resolve the duplication.
· A respondent’s volume is duplicating that of a colleague’s from the same institution.
The survey was conducted between 6th September and 26th October 2018 - with results published on 9th January 2019. The survey received 7007 responses across 89 countries.
