Morgan Stanley’s pantomime

Larry Trotter and the Bonus of Doom

The news is out. The annual Morgan Stanley employee pantomime, staged at London’s Old Vic theatre, took place on Monday January 16, proving that Morgan Stanley bankers know how to brighten up the dull days after the holidays and have fun on the first school night of the week. After the success of last year’s performance Mack and the Beanstalk [see Euromoney, December 2005] more than 1,000 Morgan Stanley staff from the London office packed in last month to watch Larry Trotter and the Bonus of Doom.

There must be a lot of keen thespians at Morgan Stanley since more than 100 members of staff took part, either treading the boards or lending backstage support. The starring role of Larry Trotter was filled by someone from the bank’s IT department. However, several managing directors from various departments were involved in minor roles. Harry Potter, eat your heart out.
