How to snag a hedge fund manager

If marrying a multi-millionaire hedge fund manager is appealing in any way, women should check out the competition they face in New York Magazine’s listing of the top six hedge fund managers’ wives in April.

An entrepreneurial nature, an involvement in the fashion industry, an interest in charitable causes and a keen eye for art are recurring characteristics. Danielle Ganek, wife of Level Global’s David Ganek, for example, is the former Woman’s Day style editor. She met her husband at college, and last year the couple helped bring in $4 million for the Guggenheim Museum. In May, Mrs Ganek is launching a book, an art-world send-up, called Lulu meets God and doubts him.

But if the number of zeros in a salary is not the be all and end all, sources say Greenwich Lobster House’s singles nights are the best way of finding true love with a hedge fund manager. Every five weeks the US hedge fund capital’s local lobster restaurant has an eight-minute dating night for professionals – many of whom are from hedge funds, says manager John Rooney.
