At least FXMarketSpace’s staffing level is rising even if its volumes levels are not. The fledgling platform has announced a further raft of hires this week, perhaps indicating that its two parents, the CME and Reuters, remain committed to the venture in the long term.
Appointments have been made in London, Chicago and New York. Clarence Seals is the most senior, joining as new senior vice-president and head of product management in New York. He will report to Mark Robson, the company’s chief executive. Seals joins from Merrill Lynch, where he was director of global private client FX, responsible for strategic business and product development.
Two further vice-presidents are joining the team. Mark Bucaj joins the product management team in New York and my old friend Sue Attwood joins in customer solutions in London. Bucaj comes from Currenex, where he was director of product management; in his new role he will report to Clarence Seals. Attwood comes over from ACI UK, but most know her from the Bank of England, where she had a long and successful career. Attwood will report to Aly Wilson, head of customer solutions EMEA.
On the technical side, Bill Keane joins as technical project manager after leaving Ipreo, where he was product manager in the fixed-income division.
