Bear Stearns has promoted long-standing employee Paul Abecassis as its chairman of European investment banking. Abecassis, who has been a senior banker in Europe for Bear Stearns for eight years, will take the newly created role as part of a reshuffle of the bank’s European management.
Two new appointments are those of Florian Lahnstein and Mark Goldstein. They will both become co-heads of the division.
Goldstein, who is also head of Bear Stearns leverage finance division, will relocate to London from New York, where he had been in charge of overseeing financial sponsors coverage. Landstein’s promotion follows his hire from UBS in January.
