Cycling – the new golf

As cycling is now the new golf, there were undoubtedly a few FX market participants taking part in the 15th L’Etape du Tour, which took place last Monday down in the French Pyrenees. Congratulations to two I know of – Barclay Capital’s chief operating officer Sean Comer and exotic options trader Ed Falinski – for completing what was a very arduous race

“It was pure carnage, both on the ups and the downs,” says Comer. “For the last two hours all I heard were ambulance sirens. The temperature was severe, with the tarmac melting, and there were some horrible accidents on the downhills as people tried to catch up time and were just too tired to cope with the fast descents.” He concludes: “Can't wait for next year.”
