Best Bank: Ineximbank

Ineximbank, which is part owned by Temirbank of Kazakhstan, has continued to grow well in the past year. Its SME focus has continued at an impressive pace and programmes funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and World Bank have continued with high rates of success. Despite not being the largest bank by assets in the country, Ineximbank is deemed the best for other reasons. Because it retains local shareholders the bank has never had access to finances like the Kazakhstan subsidiaries or international subsidiaries that have set up in the country. However, despite this, Ineximbank has been repeatedly recognized for its aggressive expansion strategy, as well as being the only top local bank to implement local financing schemes and good corporate governance.
