Houses that are built on rock

Active Asset Investment Management (aAIM) is bringing bricks and mortar to rock and roll stars with a fund that launches next month. The investment company is hoping to raise equity for a £400 million commercial property fund.

A partner in the fund is Nicholas Cowell, brother of TV show Pop Idol creator Simon Cowell. Potential investors include rock legends Elton John, Rod Stewart and David Bowie, says the firm. The fund was set up to attract a broad range of high-net-worth individuals ? the rock stars are welcome but were not specifically sought out, says aAIM's Mat Webb-Jenkins.

The company also boasts various football stars as clients, largely as a result of having Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson as one of its backers.
