BAML hires new global head of forwards

Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML) has hired a new global head of forwards, sources tell EuromoneyFXNews.

The bank has hired Dean Tonkin from Barclays Capital, where he was head of forwards trading for the Americas. Tonkin will report to Tom Gillie and Chris Bae, co-heads of global FX trading. Tonkin joins BAML after almost eight years at Barclays, where he served in several roles in Asia, including head of FX trading for Japan, and regional head of FX forwards, before he transferred to New York.

A BAML spokesperson declined to comment.
