JPMorgan’s head of Asia FX options to retire

Justin Gan, JPMorgan’s head of FX options in Asia, is retiring from the firm after seven years to spend more time with his family, according to an internal email seen by EuromoneyFXNews.

Gan, a 20-year market veteran, joined JPMorgan in 2005. He also held senior FX derivatives positions with Standard Chartered Bank, Barclays Bank and ABN Amro, all in Asia, before joining JPMorgan.

To fill his seat, the firm is promoting James Ellery to run Asia FX options across the region. Ellery most recently traded the SRT/correlation portfolio globally, and managed the G10 options desk in Asia, according to the email. He will report jointly to Jeffery Katz and Kayhan Mirza.

Meanwhile, Anchal Jain will be made responsible for the Asia regional portfolio, reporting to Ellery.

JPMorgan declined to comment.
