Goldman FX chief in Hong Kong departs

Goldman Sachs' head of FX trading in Asia has left the firm according to Derivatives Intelligence, a sister publication of Euromoney FXNews.

David Chan, managing director, fixed income, currency, commodities and head of fx trading in Asia in Hong Kong, departed late last week, according to market officials.

Chan declined to comment when contacted. A Goldman spokeswoman did not return calls seeking further information.

At Goldman, Chan was responsible for managing fx options and emerging markets. He joined the firm as an executive director in 1998, being promoted to managing director in 2002 and making partner in 2006. Prior to joining Goldman, Chan was a Hong Kong government bond trader at Citigroup.
