BNP Paribas snares Credit Suisse FX salesman

BNP Paribas has hired a Credit Suisse banker to cover institutional FX sales, according to people familiar with the matter.

Andy DePhillips joins the French bank in New York, say the sources, where he will report to Wendy Rosen, head of real-money FX sales. DePhillips had been at Credit Suisse for 10 years, most recently as a director, institutional FX sales, in New York.

Before that, DePhillips worked in FX sales at Citi between 1996 and 2002. He also had stints in FX sales at Commerzbank and UBS earlier in his career.

In this year’s Euromoney FX survey, BNP Paribas climbed five places to 15th with real-money accounts in North America, raising its market share from 0.95% to 2.25%.
