FXecosystem co-founder, Jon Vollemaere, leaves firm

Jon Vollemaere, one of two founders of FXecosystem, the network solutions company that builds global connectivity in the FX markets, has left the firm, a company spokesperson has confirmed. He had held the title of Global Head of Strategy.

Vollemaere, who was based in London, helped found the company with Jock Percy, both of whom are native New Zealanders, in June 2010. They then acquired new investment last November. FXecosystem said in May that in the first three-months of this year it had connected more than 30 key market participants, including 10 of the leading FX banks. Prior to helping found FXecosystem, Vollemaere held a variety of positions in technology services within the FX industry. This included roles as a product specialist at Reuters in New York, head of sales at FXCMpro Europe, and as a bank relationship manager at the multi-dealer platform, Currenex.

Vollemaere also helped found the social networking site for the FX industry, LetstalkFX.com, last year.
