RBS hires Ed Mount as head of technology- based FX trading

The Royal Bank of Scotland has hired Ed Mount as head of FX technology-based trading, which will form part of RBS’s Global Banking and Markets division in London, the bank said in statement.

The newly created position role will be responsible for technology- based trading across FX spot and options, including high-frequency and algorithmic trading. Mount will report to Tim Carrington, global head of FX. Mount returns to the banking industry after spending 10-years on the buy side, initially with the hedge fund, Elysium Capital Fund, before launching a spin-off, Elysium Technology Group, which developed trading and workflow systems for investment firms and corporate clients. He had been chief executive officer since 2007. Prior to working at Elysium Capital Mr. Mount had over a decade’s experience in FX and metals derivatives trading at UBS.
