Thaker’s departure follows that of David Gu, global head of rates and currencies, who retired from the firm in June, and has since been hired by Capula Investment Management, a fixed income hedge fund as co-chief investment officer, starting later this year, Financial News reported late that month. Thaker had been regarded as Gu’s No. 2 at the bank. A BAML spokesperson declined to comment on the departure. Thaker could not be contacted for comment.
