FX people move: Mandell joins Standard Chartered

Chris Mandell has joined Standard Chartered in the newly created role of head of financial institution sales for the Americas.

Mandell will be based in New York, responsible for sales of FX, rates, commodities and credit products across all financial institutions in the US, Canada and Latin America. She reports to Adam Freeman, regional head of financial markets sales, as well as Adrian Walkling, global head of financial institution sales, and Mohammed Grimeh, head of Standard Chartered securities.

Mandell left RBS as its head of global banking and markets for Latin America and Canada. Before that she was global head of FX at Bank of America, where she worked for 18 years.

Standard Chartered have been building up their FX coverage in the Americas over the last few years, recently adding a whole team in Brazil to cover FX rates.

Freeman says: “We are delighted to have Chris Mandell leading our financial institutions sales efforts for the Americas. This business has established a strong growth trajectory in the past three years, and we are confident that Chris, with her extensive experience and outstanding track record, will lead our team to further success.”
