FX people moves: Citi sets up FX e-solutions

Citi’s appointment of Jodi Schenck as global head of corporate FX e-solutions looks an interesting initiative. Citi has noted the need for a new team that “will respond to the growing need to deliver customized e-solutions into the corporate space. They will work in coordination with the global sales force to gain a deeper knowledge of our client flows and activities, and help to assess their e-needs in an effort to deliver tailor made solutions.”

Schenk will be based in New York and her team will include staff in New York, Europe, Japan and Australia although some will be shared resources as they continue in their existing corporate or e-commerce sales roles. Citi says that “the team will help to make Citi the best e-franchise in the corporate FX world.”

I think Citi are overdosing a little on the ‘e’ here: e-commerce and e-business are both in common use, e-solutions isn’t but I can see what it might mean, but ‘e-needs’ and ‘e-franchise’? e-nough perhaps.
