US’s best FX bank 2026: Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo wins this award on the strength of sustained gains in market share, expanding trading capabilities and rapid growth across its institutional FX franchise. Having entered the institutional FX space only a few years ago, the bank has continued to build momentum through targeted investment in technology, talent and client delivery, a strategy that has translated into measurable growth across products and client segments.

Wells Fargo has established itself as a top-five FX provider in North America, combining strategic risk-management expertise with enhancements to its trading and electronic execution platforms. Its eFX business has been a particularly important driver of growth, with volumes nearly doubling between FY2023 and FY2024 and continuing to increase through FY2025 and into 2026.

The bank also deepened relationships across both corporate and institutional client segments during the review period. Among North American corporates, it increased wallet share year-on-year and ranked among the leading providers of cross-currency swaps. On the institutional side, the bank gained market share across asset managers, hedge funds and banks, capturing an additional wallet share and reinforcing its competitive position in the region.

Broad-based growth has continued across the FX product suite. Spot average daily volumes, forwards, swaps and NDFs continue to show significant growth, while EM activity has been particularly strong. Together, these milestones demonstrate a franchise that is successfully scaling its capabilities while continuing to win business across the US FX market.
