It pays to be in the right place at the right time. And international investment bank Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin has been in the right place to take advantage of the current market dislocation since 1970. The firm has a broad mandate, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, financing, corporate alliances, financial opinions and advisory services, financial restructuring, and merchant banking. But it is perhaps best known for its restructuring and special situations business – skills that are now in short supply as the consequences of years of rash corporate lending wreak havoc on company balance sheets across the world.
And it is a long-standing commitment to restructuring in good times and bad that co-chairman Bob Hotz believes will keep Houlihan at the forefront of this crucial activity over the next few years.
