Financial institutions funding debate: Bank funding faces up to the credit crunch

Nick Morgan (NM) is managing director and head of financial institutions, Europe and the Middle East, at RBC Capital Markets, having joined the firm in May 2007. He is the senior coverage banker for European financial institutions responsible for capital markets origination.

Luke Davidson (LD) is head of group funding at ANZ and is responsible for managing the bank’s A$92 billion term wholesale debt portfolio, incorporating senior and subordinated debt issuance in all major global capital markets across a range of currencies and products. He has worked in ANZ’s treasury since 1998, having previously held roles in balance sheet management, non-traded interest rate risk management and short-term wholesale funding.

Helge Stray (HS) is senior vice-president at DnB NOR Bank and is responsible for the long-term funding of the DnB NOR Group. He has held this position since the formation of DnB NOR in 2004. Before this, he was responsible for the long-term funding of UBN, one of the two banks that merged to establish DnB NOR.
