Pakistan Best Bank: MCB Bank

MCB dominates the corporate, commercial and consumer banking space in Pakistan, with almost 10,000 staff operating from 952 branches and with 225 ATMS in 41 cities all servicing 4.3 million customer accounts.

In Fiscal 2005 MCB pulled further away from its competition with spectacular financial results, including a tripling of profits to some $216 million. The return on assets was 3.2% and return on equity almost 66%, largely driven by significant loan growth and a corresponding increase in lending margins.
