Venezuelans woke up on Christmas Day to find that Santa Claus had given them a brand-new toy: a Hugo Chávez action doll. In fact the doll was Venezuela’s best-selling toy this Christmas.
“It was amazing, the Hugo Chávez doll sold a lot more than Spiderman, Superman or any other toy this year,” said a spokesman for one of the country’s leading toy shops.
Venezuelans can buy different versions of the doll, including one with Chávez dressed in a red military outfit and another that recites his anti-American speeches.
