Many tokenisation initiatives remain confined to pilot programmes and closed networks. DBS has taken a different approach. The bank’s tokenised structured notes programme demonstrates how distributed ledger technology can be applied to established capital markets products at scale, while remaining fully aligned with regulatory requirements.
The programme made DBS the first bank in Asia to issue and distribute regulated tokenised structured notes on a public blockchain. Rather than creating a standalone experiment, the bank integrated tokenisation into its existing $26 billion structured notes programme, bringing blockchain-based issuance into a well-established institutional framework.
That decision reflects a broader strategy to make tokenisation usable within regulated financial markets.
