Equity round-up: Mistake of the month

A trader at Mizuho Securities in Tokyo accidentally sold 610,000 shares in J-Com for ¥1 instead of one share for ¥610,000.

The mistake has so far cost Mizuho ¥27 billion ($225 million), almost as much as the firm made in the financial year that ended in March 2005.
