Few investment bankers have played a more central role in the emergence of Gulf capital as a global financing force than Hitesh Asarpota.
Having joined Emirates NBD Capital in 2008 and led the business as chief executive since 2023, Asarpota has spent nearly two decades helping build one of the Middle East’s leading investment banking franchises. During that time, he has advised governments, financial institutions and corporates across the Middle East, Asia and Turkey and helped raise more than $300 billion for issuers and borrowers across the region.
The scale achieved during the review period reflected the culmination of that long-term strategy.
During 2025, Emirates NBD Capital crossed two milestones rarely achieved by regional investment banks: closing more than 100 syndicated loan transactions, leading more than 100 primary DCM issuances and mobilising more than $100 billion of syndicated financing in a single year.
