That said, its rival, Jones Lang LaSalle, continues to outperform, placing second in many global categories often only a few points behind its much bigger competitor. It is the clear leader in global research and had a strong showing in the emerging Europe categories.

Morgan Stanley continues to achieve in global investment banking and investment management as well as in China where in investment banking it pulled itself up from seventh place to first.

It is not at all surprising that Goldman Sachs has made gains this year. It came first in the US investment banking ranking, second in the global category and second, up from fourth in global property derivatives. Deutsche Bank placed first in property derivatives.

India’s DLF, one of the subcontinent’s best-known developers, is another big winner. It placed second in the global mixed-use development as well as placing in the top-three of five of the Asian development categories. Of course, DLF ranked first in the developer services category in India.
