Euromoney’s world’s best new FX platform award goes to Finteum, for providing an interbank market for FX swaps lasting hours rather than days. Finteum stood out for combining an original market proposition with evidence of institutional adoption.
Its platform allows banks to borrow one currency and lend another for a defined period during the day, matching funding more closely to the timing of an underlying liquidity requirement. Banks can therefore access cash when it is needed without necessarily carrying the funding overnight.
This addresses a structural challenge faced by bank treasurers.
