UniCredit made its Italian transaction banking business faster, more transparent and more digital. Much of the work was led from Italy and gave the wider group a template for its other markets.
The biggest change came in international payments. In 2025 the bank launched Fast Payment in Italy, a service that sends euro transfers into foreign currencies as quickly and simply as a domestic payment. In most cases the money arrives within seconds.
