Best bank 2025: Ecobank
Ecobank has demonstrated substantial financial growth and stability in 2024, positioning it as Ivory Coast’s best bank.
An increase in total assets to CFAFr2,514 billion ($4.5 billion) reflects a year-on-year growth of 23%, signifying a robust expansion from CFAFr2,037 billion in 2023. This asset growth indicates the bank’s increased capacity in handling larger volumes of business and solidifying its market presence.
On the lending front, Ecobank exhibited significant progress, with customer loans reaching CFAFr1,536 billion in 2024, rising by 17% from CFAFr1,307 billion in 2023. This advancement demonstrates Ecobank’s continued commitment to facilitating credit and supporting personal and business finance needs within the region.
Similarly, customer deposits surged to CFAFr1,701 billion, showcasing a 20% increase from CFAFr1,416 billion in 2023. This deposit growth not only underscores customer trust and satisfaction but also enhances the bank’s liquidity position, enabling it to finance more loans effectively.
Financial performance was further evidenced by a notable rise in profit before tax, which rose by 11% to CFAFr40.2 billion. Alongside this, the bank managed a slight increase in income tax obligations to CFAFr2.1 billion, up from CFAFr1.5 billion, reflecting its enhanced profitability. Net profit also robustly increased by 9% to CFAFr38.1 billion.
