Citi stood out in the Philippines through the breadth of its markets franchise, combining FX, rates, government securities, derivatives and funding solutions with access to its international network.
The bank estimated its domestic market shares at 8% in FX spot, 15% in FX swaps and 10% in government securities. It offered FX and rates derivatives with tenors of up to 10 years, alongside cross-currency swaps, hedging for non-deliverable currencies and US dollar liquidity for Philippine financial institutions.
Citi’s role in domestic market development was particularly important.
