HSBC’s Australian franchise in 2025 showed superior execution supporting outbound expansion, inbound capital flows and cross-border financing.
The bank has been particularly active in supporting Australian corporates navigating supply-chain realignment and diversification across Asia, with increased demand for multi-market treasury, FX and trade solutions.
Its transaction banking platform has seen strong growth across key corridors into Greater China and Southeast Asia, where HSBC combines on-the-ground presence with centralised product delivery. This is reinforced by its ability to intermediate between Australian issuers and offshore liquidity pools, particularly in hard currency funding and structured trade finance.
In the awards period, the bank has also expanded its role in facilitating renminbi-linked flows and cross-border cash management structures for clients with regional operating models.
HSBC’s strength lies in connecting balance sheet deployment with transaction banking and markets capabilities, allowing it to support clients across the full lifecycle of international activity – from working capital and trade execution through to capital markets access.
The Australian business continues to function as an integrated node within the bank’s global network, with execution driven by corridor relevance rather than just domestic positioning.
