OTP's dominance of the Hungarian market is recognized in the regional awards, where it takes the best smaller bank category.

However, Hungary's second-biggest bank, K&H, which is owned by Belgian banking group KBC, also had a good 12 months. The net profits of the bank grew 138% to Ft8 billion ($39 million), while assets grew by 20% to Ft1,733 billion.

JPMorgan Chase wins the best M&A house award. It advised French property company Klepierre in its $330 million acquisition of 12 shopping malls in Hungary, and was adviser in the OTP acquisition of Nova Banka in Croatia.

CA-IB wins the best equity award for its work on the €390 million listing of Hungarian chemicals company BorsodChem, the first foreign listing on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. HSBC was lead manager, but CA-IB was the sole agent for Hungary and Poland.
