UOB played a central role in advancing sustainable finance in Singapore in 2025. Through largescale capital mobilisation, transition financing and practical support for businesses across Asean, the bank expanded both the reach and real-world impact of sustainable finance across the region.
Its sustainable financing portfolio grew almost 1.6 times between 2024 and 2025 to reach SGD70.1 billion ($54.3 billion) in 2025, reflecting strong demand across green loans, sustainability-linked financing, sustainable trade and transition finance.
UOB’s sustainable finance activity is closely aligned with the sectors shaping the region’s transition. In 2025, the bank expanded the scope of its sustainable finance frameworks, contributing to growth in its transition finance portfolio from SGD527 million in 2024 to SGD1.5 billion in 2025.
Through financing programmes focused on renewable energy, energy efficiency, electric vehicles and green buildings, UOB is helping businesses identify and fund practical decarbonisation opportunities across Asean.
The bank has also invested heavily in broadening access to sustainable finance. By the end of January 2026, more than 10,000 SMEs across Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand had used UOB’s Sustainability Compass platform, which provides practical guidance on sustainability regulations, certifications and financing options. Its sustainability forums and workshops engaged more than 800 businesses between 2023 and 2025, while value-chain programmes reached more than 1,500 suppliers and vendors across Singapore and Malaysia.
By helping businesses develop transition plans, access financing and implement sustainability initiatives, UOB is generating measurable impact across supply chains and extending the benefits of sustainable finance beyond the region’s largest corporates.
