Converse Bank strengthened its transaction banking proposition in 2025 with growth in trade activity, new working capital tools, broader development finance relationships and deeper digital support for corporate clients in Armenia.
In 2025, trade-related volumes underlined the bank’s transaction banking momentum. Total imports supported rose 17% year-on-year to $21.3 million, while the value of import transactions increased to $19.1 million from $17.0 million, pointing to larger ticket activity and stronger client demand.
Converse Bank also expanded its working capital offer. Pre-shipment financing supported exporters before goods were shipped, while simplified factoring gave companies a faster receivables purchase option, enabling them to sell accounts receivable to a third party in exchange for immediate liquidity. These additions complemented guarantees, documentary collections, pre-export finance and import finance, making the transaction banking platform more useful for corporate clients managing cash flow and cross-border trade.

Development finance partnerships strengthened funding capacity. Converse Bank’s admission to the EBRD Trade Facilitation Programme as a confirming bank in late 2024 was backed by a $16 million facility. In June 2025, it added a dedicated trade finance line with the IFC, following an earlier IFC risk sharing facility covering 50% of the credit risk on a $10 million SME loan portfolio. Its broadened correspondent banking network includes major international institutions such as Commerzbank and Raiffeisen Bank International.
Digital transaction banking was another area of progress. Converse Business gave clients remote access to transfers, payments, deposits, balances, statements and delegated transaction authority. The bank also invested in automated sanctions screening, KYC processes, AML transaction monitoring and real-time transaction monitoring, supporting safer and more efficient transaction banking operations for corporate customers.
