In 2024, the bank solidified its market dominance with significant holdings in both resource collection and loan distribution, maintaining a substantial market share of 14.3% and 14.0%, respectively.
This prominence is underscored by a robust 8.6% growth in total assets and a 10.1% expansion in resource collection. CBAO has enhanced its operational efficiency, evidenced by an improved cost-to-income ratio that shifted from 41.7% to 40.7%.
The bank has been at the forefront of product and service innovation. It introduced tailored offerings such as the SRE package for Senegalese Residents Abroad, contactless POS terminals, and the pioneering Smart Scan cheque deposit service.
It also witnessed a remarkable digital transformation with digital transactions surging by 111%. This leap was supported by a 46.3% increase in CBAO Mobile users, attributed to new features such as biometric login, mobile wallet integration, and utility payments functionality.
Additionally, CBAO has significantly contributed to financial inclusion and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. It expanded its physical presence to 90 branches nationwide in 2024, enhancing service accessibility.
Collaborations with mobile banking platforms like Wave and Orange Money further underpin its commitment to financial inclusion. The bank has also placed a strong emphasis on sustainability by financing renewable energy projects and bolstering support for SMEs through an enhanced Business Centre, reinforcing its leadership in responsible banking and corporate social responsibility.
