The Düsseldorf-based fintech lender Auxmoney has continued to reshape Germany’s consumer credit market through a data-first, capital-light model. Its 2025 performance highlights how technology-driven processes can translate into scale without sacrificing prudence.
At the front end, each of the bank’s borrowers now receive an offer in real time, and 93% of applications flow from eligibility check to pay-out without human intervention – an achievement made possible by a proprietary underwriting engine that analyses open-banking data in seconds. The result is a customer journey that sees 94% of approved loans cleared automatically, creating a seamless experience that conventional banks still struggle to match.
Such efficiency fed an exceptional growth spurt. New originations climbed 37% year-on-year to €2 billion in 2025, completing a compound annual growth rate standing above 35% since 2023 and lifting cumulative lending to €9 billion. Productivity scaled alongside volume: each employee originated €9.7 million of loans in 2025, more than triple the closest peer, showing the leverage inherent in Auxmoney’s platform.
Risk metrics strengthened even as the book expanded. Continuous learning from a 12-year archive of banktransaction data helped cut default rates by more than 25% between 2021 and 2024, while maintaining a 4.8-star Trustpilot score that signals borrower approval of the firm’s responsible-lending stance.
Auxmoney was also active on the liability side. After reopening Europe’s consumer asset-backed securities market in 2023, it priced two oversubscribed deals in March and September 2025, together worth €1.1 billion, with securitisations backed exclusively by German personal-loan receivables. The programme’s scale has made Auxmoney the continent’s second-largest consumer ABS issuer and gives the company durable access to term funding without loading its own balance sheet.
“We founded this company on a simple premise: that advanced data and technology leads to superior financial solutions for our borrowers,” said Auxmoney’s CEO Raffael Johnen. “By leveraging cutting-edge technology and AI, we’ve stripped the inefficiency out of the traditional lending process. The result is a platform built for the customer’s benefit – delivering real-time decisions, seamless experiences and more competitive rates within the prime market we operate in.”
