FX people moves: SuperDerivatives appoints head of R&D

Options systems vendor SuperDerivatives has appointed Sam Somech to head up its global research and development activities.

Somech, who has sat on the company’s board since 2003, is a well-regarded figure in the information technology world.

As the founder of Data Voice Systems, Somech invented and developed the concept of transactional messaging. This later became the foundation of IBM’s MQSeries. Somech then co-founded software company Level 8, whose technology was acquired by Microsoft to provide the foundation for its Messenger application.

“Sam will lead our fast growing global R&D team….The continued expansion of the company in product range, breadth of technologies and system sophistication required us to employ someone of Sam’s stature and skill,” says David Gershon, SuperDerivatives’ chief executive.
