A survey by Chilean non-profit research company Corporación Latinobarometro has found that Latin Americans are feeling more optimistic about the state of their democracies. Just over one-third of people in the region believe that their economic situation has improved, while 48% say that their countries are already part of the developed world, or will be within 20 years.
