Methodology

Euromoney emailed or phoned 5,130 executives at 3,207 international companies worldwide and 28,000 copies of the questionnaire were sent out by post.

Scores were based on one point for each nomination by a respondent. Respondents in all cases were asked to indicate:

? Which airport they considered their favourite?

? Which airline provided the best lounges?

? Which airline has the best loyalty and frequent flyer programs?

Above all, though, the emphasis should remain on leveraging technology and supporting it with knowledgeable travel experts. Clients are often tempted by the ease with which they can book themselves ? it would be folly for the travel management industry to fail to remind them of the ? Which airline they preferred when flying out of a given list of regions (as published below)?

? Overall, which was their favourite hotel chain in the world?

? Which hotel they preferred when staying in a given list of cities (as published)?

Geographical breakdown of all replies received: Europe 50%, Asia 25%, North America 13%, and Rest of World 12%.
